Proud to announce the open beta launch of sparkon.net! Call for participation!!

After lots of hard work, I am proud to announce the open beta launch of a new social platform I’ve been developing for creative and emergent interactive technology called sparkon. If you like my blog, the MTmini, Audiotouch or any of my work – you’re going to love sparkon!

sparkon creates a platform for sharing, learning, discussing, promoting, and meeting people with interests in spreading information in new ways and between people through the use of creative and emergent interactive technology. sparkon is a social platform for people that are sparked by creative and emergent interactive technology. On sparkon you’ll find projects demonstrating the latest interactive techniques, applications, software frameworks, and case studies involving creative and emergent technology.

CALL FOR PARTICIPATION

5th Annual ACM Conference on Interactive Tabletops and Surfaces 2010

The Interactive Tabletops and Surfaces 2010 Conference (ITS) is a
premiere venue for presenting research in the design and use of new
and emerging tabletop and interactive surface technologies. As a new
community, we embrace the growth of the discipline in a wide variety
of areas, including innovations in ITS hardware, software, design, and
projects expanding our understanding of design considerations of ITS
technologies and of their applications.

Building on their success in previous years, ITS again features Papers

Beta Invties: Sign up now! For people interested in innovative, creative, emergent, and interactive technology!

Beta invites are not needed anymore – the site is launched!!

http://sethsandler.com/technology-multitouch/proud-announce-launch-techsparkedcom/

Are you interested in innovative, emergent, and interactive technology (multitouch, gestures, eye tracking, augmented reality, creative tech, etc) or the interactions we will have with information in the future? Do you create emergent experiences, have interactive applications/software or code frameworks for building interactive installations, applications, or projects? If so, then this opportunity really is for you.

I have some beta invites for a new website that’ll be doing a rapid beta test within the next week. For the beta, we’re especially looking for people that already have or are in the process of creating projects, applications and software frameworks within the interactive, emergent, and creative technology domain.

With a great blog comes great responsibility!

That headline sounds really odd, doesn’t it?

With that said, with the new website and blog, Ive realized it takes a decent amount of work to start fresh. Redirecting my old blog, ensuring all permalinks and trackbacks stay in place can be a real nightmare. Luckily wordpress makes things fairly simple.

After 30 plugins and a lot of research, I’m close to being satisfied with the new resulting website you’re now seein; still a few things I want to add and simplfy on the design.

If you’re wondering what the greeting message is that pops up at the heading of each entry, that’s WP Greet Box. Greet box gives a personal touch and greeting to each new user that

We have liftoff! New domain and theme!

I took the plunge. I finally bought my own domain name (sethsandler.com).  It was time; with a decent amount of traffic on my wordpress.com site, I really needed the ability to customize the site and make best use of the wordpress platform.

So, goodbye wordpress.com and hello wordpress.org. The customizability of having my domain makes theming and widgets much more fun! Best of all, I have my old blog ssandler.wordpress.com redirecting to this new one so I hopefully won’t loose all my pingbacks and permalinks etc.

Let me know what you think of the new blog, it’s style or possible lack-thereof. It’s still in the works and not all the pages/information is up or up-to-date yet. Make sure to update
